Updates from Team Bulb

A huge welcome to our first Kickstarters

We’ve joined the Government’s Kickstart Scheme, to provide 6 month placement opportunities for young people. The program helps young people who are currently at risk of long-term unemployment learn new skills and gain more experience.

21 Kickstarters have already joined our team

Our Kickstarters will be working across different teams at Bulb. These placements are designed for newly created jobs, so we’ve set up 2 brand new positions in our Experience and Operations teams.

Rich and Qaseem were the first to join our Operations team. For Qaseem, the best thing about this experience so far has been learning a wide range of skills from different vocations. “This has opened up so many doors in my future that I wouldn't have had the opportunity to go through before.” Rich feels the program is a great initiative to help young people, and would recommend anyone who is eligible to apply. For Rich, the most exciting part of the Kickstart program has been learning about an industry that is completely new to him.

30 Kickstarters will be joining our team before the end of the year

We’ve partnered with Jolt, who provide online training as part of the placement

Jolt is an online business school that helps to further people’s careers through education. We’re working with Jolt to make sure the Kickstarters who join Bulb through the Kickstart scheme develop the skills they need to succeed in tech.

Joining Kickstart builds on our successful previous apprenticeship partnership with WhiteHat, where 70% of apprentices who joined Bulb through the programme went on to accept permanent roles.

If you’re an aspiring Energy Specialist, Data Scientist, Engineer or Product Manager, we’d love to hear from you. There’s lots of work to do – head to our careers page to help us help the world go green.
