We’re really proud to have won an award in the climate category of the Digital Agenda Impact Awards! We were thrilled to be nominated, but to win, well that was just fantastic. And fortunately, there was no La La Land-esque mix up.
This year was the first ever Impact Awards. They were set up to highlight the enormous potential for technology to be a positive force and celebrate companies and organisations that are using tech for good, not just for profit. We wrote about our support for the Tech for Good movement on the Tech City blog last year. In short, we’re big supporters.
It was great to see fellow B Corps, Neighbourly and ClearlySo, also win awards in the ‘sharing & partnership’ and ‘investment’ categories respectively. Clearly, B Corps that have a triple bottom line of people, planet and profit are the way forward!
There were some other amazing winners at the awards ceremony. FoodCloud, a social enterprise connecting businesses that have surplus food with local charities and community groups, helping ensure no edible food goes to waste. Babylon was created to put an affordable health service into the hands of everyone. As well as video GP appointments and free medicine delivery, Babylon uses artificial intelligence, which is always learning, to provide a 24/7 symptom checker service.
Thanks to all the other great organisations that took part in the awards and Digital Agenda for bringing everyone together for the event.
