Enjoy a little piece of the rainforest from home

A view of the Gola rainforest from the air

Get creative with the sights and sounds of Gola and let us know how it helps to lift your spirits at home.

We know there's a lot going in the world right now, and our number one priority is taking care of our members and our team. Like everyone, we're taking this seriously. But we think it's important to keep sharing the things that inspire us. And if we can brighten your day at home, we think that’s a good thing to do.

A few weeks before international travel was limited, we went to the Gola rainforest in Sierra Leone to meet the folks at one of Bulb's carbon offsetting projects, delivered in partnership with ClimateCare. This project keeps CO2 locked up in Gola's trees, while helping to protect the region's rich biodiversity and support local communities. Naturally our flights were 100% carbon neutral, and we'll be sharing more about our trip very soon.

Meanwhile, back home in London, we've been going through the footage we captured during our visit. We realised there were some incredible sounds and pictures that we hope can provide some essential supplies of cheer and inspiration in extraordinary times.

Feel free to use this library for any non-commercial use, no strings attached. There's lots of great pics of Gola's stunning landscapes and scenery.

We’ve also shared some relaxing views of the rainforest over on our Youtube channel, too.

And if you're wondering what to do with a 12 minute ambient rainforest track, then wonder no more. Here are a few thoughts from Bulb HQ, but feel free to surprise us and share your ideas on our social pages or over in the Bulb Community.

  • Musicians, share your Gola mix with us. We'd love to hear what you come up with. We'll be sharing your sounds from the rainforest on our social channels.

  • Bird spotters and nature fans, tell us how many species you can hear. Top points if you can name them, too. We'll be sharing insights from a local Sierra Leone bird expert to shed some light if you get stuck.

  • Breathe. The sounds of the rainforest can be very restful. Try using this as a background for meditation, or take a well-deserved break from working at home.

  • Sometimes the simple ones are the best - these pictures might look right at home as a background on your phone or PC.

  • Jazz up your home office on Zoom.

Here's some of our team enjoying a call from the comfort of our very own piece of rainforest. It might get you out of some tidying up, too. (Find out how to set your Zoom background.)
