Simple ways to save on your energy bill

We might not be able to settle the fight over the remote control, but we can share our top tips to lower your energy bill while you’re at home with family or friends.

Many people are going to be spending more time at home over the next few weeks, which means lots of us will use more energy than usual. So we’ve been using our social channels to share some of our favourite ways to save energy. We hope these tips will help you to keep on top of your energy costs now and, who knows, some might even become long-term habits.

We know it’s not an average time, but the savings figures we use in our tips are calculated for an average home over the course of one year. So your savings will vary. Unless you live in a 3-bedroom, semi-detached house with gas heating, that is, on the average tariffs for gas and electricity. The numbers come from Energy Saving Trust who did the maths in March 2019. They’re experts at what they do and have loads of useful advice on their website.

Another way to save money on your bills right now is to tell a friend about Bulb's cheaper, greener energy. Refer your pals to earn up to £50 credit through your Bulb account.
