So, you've got the job! On this page, you'll find all the info you need to get set up for your first day at Bulb.

Step 1: Offer & contract

We’ll send your contract with a formal written offer shortly after we’ve verbally offered you the job and agreed on a start date. Once you’ve had a chance to review it, please confirm your acceptance by signing the contract.

We'll ask for your home address, so we can make sure you have your laptop and any other equipment you need before your first day.

Step 2: Your new team

Your new manager will reach out to you and give you a warm welcome. This is a good opportunity to set up a virtual coffee with your manager or your new team, especially if you’re working a notice period at your last job before joining Bulb.

Step 3: Getting you set up

Our IT team will send you your laptop, email & password, and any equipment you need 3-7 days before your start date. Your Recruiter will reach out to you the Friday before you start with details of your onboarding.

You’ll be invited to join Namely, our HR system, the week before you start. It’s really important we have all the right details for you, so please make sure you...

  • Update your personal information. We need to know your preferred name, address and emergency contact, and we’ll ask you some diversity and health and safety questions, too.

  • Upload your photo. Cheesy smiles encouraged.

  • Update your bio. Tell us all a bit about yourself. What’s your role at Bulb? What do you get up to in your free time? Don’t stress, this isn’t widely visible when you start and we promise noone’s judging your taste in music.

  • Fill in your bank details. We need these to make sure you’re paid on time. Please enter them in the Compensation section of your profile.

  • Sign a few important documents. We’ll email you some documents that need your signature, including the HMRC New Starter Checklist and a form about First Aid.

Your onboarding welcome pack will include:

  • A guide on how to set up your laptop

  • Calendar invites for your first week

  • Your schedule for your first week

  • Details about your NEST Slack channel. All new joiners at Bulb go through basic New Energy Specialist Training (NEST). This will give you a good background on Bulb and the wider energy industry, and it means the whole company understands what our service team does. A special channel on Slack means you’ll be able to talk to people who are joining at the same time as you, and access the information shared during NEST, too.

Your first day will start at 8:45 am with an IT onboarding session to kick off your NEST training. We can’t wait to meet you!
